MLCC raises price by 40%, industry may see a rebound in momentum

MLCC, also known as multilayer ceramic capacitors, is one of the most widely used components in the electronics industry and is often referred to as the "rice of the electronics industry". Affected by weak downstream demand, the shipping prices of MLCC have continued to decline in the first two years, with a price decline cycle of more than 14 months. However, since the beginning of this year, the shipment of this type of component has started to increase significantly, and some companies have recently issued product price increase letters.

Comment: After a year and a half of price reduction and destocking cycles, the industry's turnover rate was at a ten-year low in the third quarter of 2022, with some part number prices reaching historic lows. Starting from the fourth quarter, the turnover rate of major original factories began to increase. The supply side of the current MLCC industry has returned to health, and the industry is on the eve of an upward turning point in prosperity. As downstream demand gradually recovers, industry related enterprises have greater performance elasticity.
